Ireland opened their European campaign with a 86 – 58 defeat to Switzerland in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on Saturday.
Switzerland with Thabo Sefolosha in their ranks started the first quarter brightly with the Chicago Bulls star proving a particular thorn in Ireland’s side.
Ireland trailed by six at half-time but then put forth a devastating third-quarter effort and used that as a platform for 76-70 victory against Cyprus.
