Captain of the team and one of key players on the squad, Baeringsson has proven to be a great team leader on the floor and has showed his dedication through the years to the national team cause. With Iceland sporting a relatively short roster, he is usually given the task of defending much taller opponents, a task in which he typically excels. Great rebounder for his size, which is complemented by his hard work and never-give-up attitude, he has often been on par with his opponents in the field of rebounding despite his height disadvantage. He is a smart defender and a good passer. Baeringsson was among the offensive rebound leaders during the Second Qualification Round before he got injured, but still finished 8th overall. On the offensive end he can score inside against big opponents and also go outside the six metre line and shoot threes, making him a difficult player to match up against.
