Hungary continued their winning ways at the Umcor U18 European Championship Women in Tenerife with a 53-46 defeat against Germany.

The Germans suffered a huge loss against Serbia & Montenegro on day one of the tournament, but came out in far more determined mood against Hungary.

The Germans raced away to a 7-0 lead and led for most of the first half.

However, Hungary gradually asserted themselves and a 10-2 run in the third quarter saw them take the lead, 38-31.

In a fourth quarter where both teams struggled to put points on the board, Hungary managed to gradually increase their lead to as many as ten points and eased to victory.

Fanni Hutlassa and Dora Szondy both netted 16 points for Hungary.
