England, Hungary, Portugal and Slovakia Semis Bound

England, Hungary, Slovakia and Portugal are the four teams that will play in the Semi-Final Round and fight for promotion at the U16 European Championship Women Division B in Skopje.

Portugal stunned Germany and England won a nail-biter from Bulgaria while Hungary and Slovakia landed clear wins over Romania and Slovenia respectively.

After they relegated into the Division B last year the Germans to immediately jump back to the higher category. But Portugal denied them, beating them 63-54 and they will instead fight it out for a place in Division A. Ines Viana led the Portuguese with 18 points and 10 assists.

In a close battle England outlasted Bulgaria 62-58. England found a hero in Cheridene Green who marked 25 points along with 15 rebounds. The game was decided in a hectic finale when Bulgaria went scoreless for the last 1:45 minutes.

Hungary continued their great campaign with a convincing 65-50 win over Romania. Amadea Szamosi had a huge double double with 21 points and a stunning 22 rebounds.

In the final match-up of the day, the Slovak Republic beat Slovenia 70-60. The Slovaks had a better inside game and outrebounded their opponent 53-36.

In the Semi-Final matches Hungary will face England while Portugal meet Slovakia.
