France take home bronze

Defending champions France collected their third bronze medal of the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women by running away from up-starts Sweden 73-44 in the Third Place Game.

Jenny Fouasseau and Eléonore Grossemy paced France with 16 points each as Arnaud Guppillotte's side added 2008 bronze to third-place finishes in 1997 and 1999; gold in 2001 and 2007; and 2005 silver.

Hungary down Russia, hope for fifth

Hungary has a chance to grab fifth place at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women after knocking off Russia 53-45.

Bettina Baksa scored 19 points to lead the way for Hungary, who finished the Qualifying Round Group F in fourth place with a 2-3 record.

Hungary holds on against Belarus

Judit Mányoky scored 18 points to lead Hungary to a 48-47 victory over Belarus for their first win in the Qualifying Round Group F of the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women.

Melinda Késöi added nine points and 10 rebounds and Anna Mansaré also grabbed 10 rebounds for Judit Balogh's team, which improved to 1-3.

Spain join Italy undefeated atop Group F

Spain matched Italy with a perfect 3-0 record atop Qualifying Round Group F after cruising past Hungary 73-31 at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women.

Laura Gil led the way for Spain with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Yurena Diaz had 11 points. All told, 11 Spaniards scored at least three points, every player grabbed a rebound and nine handed out assists.
