Spain 87 Greece 76

Juan Carlos Navarro was the star as Spain continued their preparation for next month's European Championships with a 87-76 win over Greece.

The Barcelona base scored 22 points as Spain continued their winning run following Friday’s 91-38 demolition of Japan.

But if the Japan game was little more than a training exercise, Saturday's encounter was far more similar to what Moncho Lopez's team can expect at the European Championships in Sweden, which get underway on September 5.

Referee Garcia Ortiz had his work cut out to control a bad-tempered game, with Greek coach Giannis Ioaniddis being expelled for grabbing Ortiz's arm in protest at a foul.

Efthimios Rentzias found form to put the Greeks briefly ahead at the end of the second quarter, but the home side fought back to claim a morale-boosting success.
