Michail Kakiouzis

Career: Ionikos (Greece-A2, 1990-95), AEK (Greece-ESAKE, 1995-2002), Siena (Italy-Lega, 2002-05), Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 2005-07)

After winning the gold medal at EuroBasket 2005, “Prophet Mihail” promised to write a book about his basketball career if Greece came back from Japan with a medal. Just a few days after returning from the Far East with a silver medal last summer, he started writing! His book is about to be published and is sure to become a best-seller. The captain and soul of the National Team, Kakiouzis is the man from whom everybody expects to learn what will happen in Spain, as he predicted both with the European and World Championship results. The 30-year-old has won trophies in three different countries with AEK (one ESAKE, two Cups and a Saporta), Siena (1 Lega, in 2004) and Barcelona (the 2007 Copa del Rey). He also captured the 1995 U18 World Championship with Greece.
