Greece left it late but played their best game of the tournament to upset France, 72-55, clinch third place in Group E, jump into the Quarter-Finals and eliminate Russia, all in one stroke.

For France, the result means that they qualify as fourth from this Second Round pool and will face Group F winners Slovenia in the Quarter-Finals.

Greece held a slim 27-26 advantage at halftime but came storming out of the locker rooms in the beginning of the third quarter, going on a 14-0 run to break away and increase their lead to 15 points.

France played solid defence in the fourth quarter, but Greece executed well under pressure and held on.

Spyridon Motsenigos led the winners with 18 points and six rebounds while Anastasios Antonakis chipped in with 15 points and six boards, as the Greeks made 10-of-14 three-pointers.

France playmaker Leo Westermann had 14 points and Hugo Invernizzi contributed 11 points and six rebounds in a losing effort.

Greece will now face Lithuania in the Quarter-Finals.
