Germany continue to hold a smiling face following a 70-51 triumph over Greece in Group F of the U20 European Championship in Bilbao, Spain.

Germany jumped to a 2-1 record in the group, while Greece fell to 1-2 and will need to chase Germany in the remaining two days.

Daniel Theis collected 19 points and 19 rebounds for Germany in the most impressive double-double performance of the tournament, Patrick Heckmann added 12 points, Ole Wandt reached 11 while Niels Giffey finished with 10.

Dimitrios Katsivelis finished with 13 points and Emmanouil Koukoulas had 10.

Greece hit the ball in just 32.8% from the floor and couldn't match up with the efficient team work of their opponent.

An active first period saw Germany take an 20-11 lead as both teams combined points, yet Koukoulas carried Greece back to 24-24 and Katsivelis put the Greeks back on top a couple of minutes later.

Germany struggled against the tough Greek defense but scored the last six points of the half to stand up 32-27 after 20 minutes.

The two sides didn't find the way to collect a pile of points, until late in the third quarter Germany ignited their decisive run.

Theis hit five points in an 11-0 German run that set the gap on 54-38 with 7:26 to play.

Linos Chrysikopoulos tried to save the day, but saw Theis control the glass after every Greek miss as Germany kept pushing the difference up and finished with an impressive 19 point win.54 38
