Day Two of the U18 European Championship Men Division C saw hosts San Marino reaching their second victory in as many games, while Moldova were comfortable winners against Gibraltar.

The hosts made it two of two with a 75-65 success over Andorra, but they had to work hard to earn it, just as it was the case on the opening day against Moldova.

After a very tight first half, San Marino were leading at the interval 32-30 but they had not managed at any point in the first 20 minutes to create a comfortable gap.

The eruption came in the third quarter and the key was defence. The hosts managed to keep the Iberians to only 10 points, while at the same time their main offensive weapon, Julian Gualtieri, kept firing from all distances.

The 1.88m San Marino guard led all scorers with an astonishing 43 points on an equally impressive 60 percent shooting from the floor, including 5-of-10 from behind the three-point arc.

The Andorra frontline duo were also on a great day, as both Oriol Peral and Eduard Vives Mino registered a double-double in points and rebounds but it did not prove enough to deny the hosts.

In the second game, Gibraltar never managed to keep up with Moldova's pace and were already trailing by 16 points at the end of the first half.

Moldova got a contribution from every single player in the 12-man squad to reach a comfortable 73-31 win.

Power forward Vladislav Solopa had 15 points and six rebounds in just 19 minutes of play for the winning side, while Brandon James Sawyer kept fighting till the end for Gibraltar, finishing with 11 points and eight rebounds, but his side never stood a chance as they were plagued by turnovers throughout the encounter.
