Making his competitive debut for Belgium in a EuroBasket qualifier vs. Hungary in September 2004, Muya is rapidly approaching 100 international appearances after almost a decade as a regular in the team. He also played for the country at Under-20 level. His club career began in earnest with Verviers-Pepinster in 2000, and since then he has also played in the Belgian league for Liege, Oostende and current side Mons-Hainaut. In addition, he has also had as spells in Italy's Lega A with Scafati and Spain's LEB with Palma and Burgos. He underwent foot surgery earlier this summer.
