When he was still playing with TuS Lichterfelde, ALBA Berlin’s farm team, Stefano Garris made a flashy first appearance with Berlin in the Euroleague. In December of 1999, he stepped on the court at the end of the first half against an unbeaten Panathinaikos and sank a three-pointer from 8 meters. Berlin won the game. A few years later, everybody knows the qualities of Garris. He is a very good defensive player. A stopper who can also shoot from behind the arc (38,1 % in 2004-05 in the Bundesliga). Garris has very good athletic abilities but he lacks power to be able to attack the basket with consistency. He has the same problem on the boards to grab rebounds. He has great Euroleague experience with Berlin but has never really achieved his potential. A perfect team player.
