With Demond Greene, Robert Garrett is one of the close friends of Dirk Nowitzki back in Europe. He’s another relatively short but strongly built guard for the German team. A very good driver, he penetrates well but lacks some range on the perimeter. Since he left for Italy, his minutes have been cut down but he had excellent scoring seasons in the Bundesliga, especially in 1999-00 (23,0 points with Würzburg). The following summer, he played with the Dallas Mavericks in the Los Angeles Summer League, but did not make the team. He almost disappeared from the NT after 2001, but he had the confidence of his coach last year during the qualifying round where he played an important role from the bench.
