|Not afraid the take the big shots: Jan Wimberg |
Averaging 14.4 points a night at the Dadu U16 European Championship Men, scoring points is something that Germany's Jan Wimberg is well familiarised with, as he alludes to in FIBA Europe's latest half-court press.
FIBAEurope.com: What's your first basketball memory?
Jan Wimberg: It was my second game in the German U12 tournament. I could not really play but I was just turning to the hoop and shooting bank shots. I scored 42 points and our whole team scored 47. In my head it was clicking that I need to play basketball.
FIBAEurope.com: Who is the most mature of your teammates and who is the most... childish?
Kevin Casper. He is always singing and having fun and he is a very funny person. I don't think we have a serious player.
FIBAEurope.com: Playing on the senior national team one day and winning a medal at a future EuroBasket means...
That's the dream.
FIBAEurope.com: There's only 2 seconds left on the shot-clock, do you pass the ball or shoot?
FIBAEurope.com: Who is the best European player you've seen?
FIBAEurope.com: Do you know how to cook and what would you cook for your coach if he ate
dinner at your house?
I am not the best cook but I think I would make some eggs for breakfast. That is the only thing I can cook...or pizza...a pre-made one.
