Germany made a big step towards another year in Division A after beating Denmark 68-40 in the Classification Round of the U16 European Championship at Sports Hall Topolica in Bar, Montenegro on Wednesday afternoon.
The win keeps Germany perfect with a 3-0 record in the group, while Denmark falls down to 0-3 and move closer back to Division B after one year.
After the rest day Germany will take on Israel and with a win can secure their spot in the top stage for one more year, while Denmark will try to stay alive against Latvia.
Paul Zipser had 14 points for Germany who saw seven other players score six points or more.
David Knudsen had 10 points for Denmark as the only player who reached double-digits.
The big gap was written already during the first quarter, which Germany finished with a 24-7 lead, and seemed pretty comfortable in the driver's seat.
The half time score, 41-20, also set the biggest gap in the entire first half, while after the break Germany took the leg off the gas paddle, and mostly maintained the gap to finish with a 28 point win and move a win shy of the promised land.
