France is tied with Spain on top of Group F of the Omnitel U16 European Championship Men after a 56-42 win over Germany.

Both teams share a 3-0 record, and while Germany is down to 0-3 the meaning is that both Spain and France
already earned their Quarter-Final tickets.

Benjamin John led France with 12 points and Soria Bangura added ten with eight boards and six steals.

Paul Albrecht paced Germany with 11 points.

After the first ten minutes France still held just a small 15-12 lead, only to see Germany boost eight unanswered
points in the first four minutes of the second period.

John wrote a three-point play, but Germany wasn't done yet, and shocked the French with an 11-2 run to write a  31-20 margin close to the break.

Bangura and John scored the next eight points, going through the early minutes of the third, and before the fourth quarter started the German lead was already deleted, 42-37 in favor of France.

Not for the first time in this tournament the fourth quarter didn't tell a good story for the German offense.

France allowed Germany only three points until the last seconds of the quarter, before Germany scored with the buzzer to make it just a bit less bitter, but surely not enough.

France will meet Croatia tomorrow, while Germany will face Serbia tomorrow as both teams will look for a first win in the Qualifying Round.
