Germany coach Frank Menz has decided to include guards Besnik Bekteshi and Dennis Schröder in the final squad for the U20 European Championship in Slovenia.

The two competed at the U18 European Championship last year.

Bekteshi and Schröder averaged 9.1 points and 13.5 points, respectively, for the U18 team.

Other newcomers to the U20 team are Mario Blessing, Kevin Bright, Philipp Neumann, Johannes Richter and Leon Tolksdorf.

Five players that helped Germany clinch fifth at the 2011 U20 European Championship in Bilbao are in Menz's team.

They are Patrick Heckmann, Mathis Mönninghoff, Daniel Theis, Johannes Voigtmann and Ole Wendt.

Theis, a 2.03m power forward/center, led Germany in Bilbao with averages of 12.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

On standby are Sebastian Fülle and Florian Koch.

Germany will take on France, Serbia and Montenegro in Group A at the U20 European Championship, which tips off on 12 July.

The tournament will have games in Ljubljana, Domzale and Kranjska Gora.
