Slovenia Secure Division A Status, Germans Get First Win

Marko Vranjkovic scored 24 points and Dino Muric collected 10 points and 13 rebounds as Slovenia secured a spot in the Division A of the U20 European Championship with an 85-63 victory over Israel.

Zoran Dragic added 18 points for Slovenia, who won their second straight game in the classification round.

Slovenia, Israel Win In Classification Round

Slovenia and Israel took the first step to remaining in the U20 European Championship Division A by notching victories in the first games of the classification round.

Zoran Dragic collected 26 points, eight rebounds and four steals as Slovenia beat Germany 86-77 to improve to 1-0.

Group D: Croatia Take Second, Consolation For Germans

Miro Bilan and Bojan Bogdanovic combined for 46 points as Croatia held off Serbia 82-74 to capture second place in Group D of the U20 European Championship.

Bilan had 24 points and nine rebounds while Bogdanovic collected 22 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals for Croatia who finished the preliminary round with a 2-1 record.

Group D: German Hearts Broken, Ukraine Win Again

Ukraine improved to 2-0 in Group D of the U20 European Championship by holding off Croatia 86-79 thanks to a balanced attack.

Denys Lukashov collected 22 points and nine rebounds to lead four Ukrainians in double figures. Stanislav Tymofeyenko added 17 points and 11 rebounds while Olexiy Shchepkin had 15 points off the bench and reserve Andriy Novikov chipped in 14 points.
