Tibor Pleiss made his mark at the FIBA World Championship last summer when he became a key part of the rotation, averaging 8.2 points and six boards during 20 minutes of action per game. Having been given only limited playing time at EuroBasket 2009, Pleiss has shown just why he is rated as another top young prospect in German basketball, and fears that last summer's tournament had come too early for him proved unfounded. Having shown much more maturity at club level, his mobility, smooth shot and rebounding capabilities are beginning to outshine his slender frame which occasionally sees him out-muscled on the court. With success at club level, and having been drafted by the New Jersey Nets, Pleiss can probably expect to see some serious minutes at EuroBasket 2011.
