Germany Name Preliminary U20 Women Squad


Germany U20 Women's coach Julia Gajewski has named a 21-strong group of players for a training camp to be held in Heidelberg from May 21-26.

The group includes several members of the side that competed at the U18 European Championship in Novi Sad, last summer.

Sophie Witte, Leonie Prudent, Anna-Lisa Rexroth, Nelli Dietrich, Hannah Eitel, Francis Pieczynski and Nadja Prötzig all played in Serbia last year and will be looking to impress Gajewski and make the trip to Chieti, Italy, for the U20 European Championship, July 11-20.

The Germans will be in Group A of the U20 event with Serbia, France and hosts Italy.

Some of the others invited to the camp are Mirijam Unger, Tonja Schäffner and Franziska Höre. All three played last year when Germany finished eighth at the U20 European Championship in Sofia.
