Serbia and Turkey have clinched vital wins to advance to a 3-1 record in Classification Group G of the U16 European Championship Women. Two more game days are left to decide the side who will keep their place in Division A.
GERMANY VS TURKEY
The Germans dropped to a 2-2 record in the Classification Round for 13rh to 16th place, after losing to Turkey, 55-48.
Turkey proved stronger during the game at University Sports Hall.
They started better, with Selale Kepenc leading the team during the first quarter, when the Germans scored only two points.
Then it was time for Serife Onar to show all her basketball skills, finishing with 22 points and two assists, while Beylem Ilba dominated the boards with 15 rebounds.
Turkey is tied on top of the group with Serbia, with both teams going face to face on Sunday.
ENGLAND VS SERBIA
For the English side, losing 51-68 to Serbia sealed their relegation to Division B.
Serbia delivered a strong performance in a match they dominated from the first minute.
Zeljka Petkovic scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Julijana Vojinovic and Tijana Cukic, with 14 and 13 points respectively, made it clear it wasn't England's day.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old Samantha Clement was the best English scorer with 18 points.
