It has been four years since Darjus Lavrinovic last played for Lithuania in a major tournament. After the disappointing appearance in EuroBasket 2009 in Poland, the center has not been able to help the national team due to never-ending injury woes. The 33-year-old big man returned to Zalgiris Kaunas after playing for teams in Russia, Spain and Turkey since leaving Lithuania in 2006. Having paired up with his twin brother Ksistof on the same team for the third time in their career, Darjus had a successful season in Euroleague, averaging just under nine points and four rebounds-per-game in limited minutes. In comparison to his twin brother, Darjus is a bit more comfortable operating inside, but can also drain it from deep just as accurately.
