Spain broke open a close game in the third quarter and defeated France 64-54 to capture gold at the U18 European Championship Women in Södertälje.
Trailing 36-33 after 23 minutes played, the Spaniards scored 14 unanswered points to go into the final stanza with a 47-36 advantage.
France delivered the telling blows in the first half and crushed the Czech Republic 74-52 to reach the final of the U18 European Chammpionship Women in Södertälje.
Les Bleuets trailed 11-7 five minutes into the contest but then scored the next 14 points of the game to go in front 21-11.
France blew a big lead but managed to edge Latvia 55-54 on Friday to stay unbeaten and reach the Semi-Finals of the U18 European Championship Women.
Leading 48-34 near the end of the third quarter, les Bleues nearly ground to a halt and that allowed Latvia to come back and cut the deficit to 55-54 with 57 seconds left.
France thrashed 2008 gold medalists Lithuania 68-44 on Wednesday as both teams made it through to the Quarter-Finals of the U18 European Championship for Women.
Les Bleuets had already clinched first place in Group E before their game against the Baltic country on Wednesday but Jerome Fournier's side still displayed their title potential to remain perfect in the tournament.
