Bertal has an interesting profile with no international experience at the senior level, but a much needed ability to provide points in the paint. She left Bourges in 2005 for Montpellier, a very ambitious club in France, and has shown since that she is one of the best inside threats in the French League, averaging 12.3 points per game during the season. At Montpellier, she plays with her older sister, Géraldine. Teammates call them the "Bertalous".
