Tony Parker scored 16 points as the San Antonio Spurs secured their seventh straight play-off berth with an 84-75 victory over the Detroit Pistons in a matchup of the league's top defensive teams on Thursday.

San Antonio, the defending NBA champions, haven't missed the play-offs since the 1995-96 season. The Spurs are 1 1/2 games behind the third-place Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference.
