|Léo Westermann led the way for France with 18 points and five assists|
France overcame a poor first quarter to take a 75-62 victory against Ukraine at the U20 European Championship on Tuesday and eliminate them from contention for a place in the Quarter-Finals.
Les Bleus now have control of their destiny and will advance with in their final game of the Final Round.
Ukraine started the game well, taking a 15-6 lead midway through the first period, but the French team showed their true class and were the superior team the rest of the way.
Leo Westermann had 18 points and five assists for France, Hugo Invernizzi scored 12, while Axel Toupane finished the game with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Big man Artem Pustovyi was the key player for Ukraine once again, finishing the game with 21 points, but only three rebounds.
France will face Greece for a spot in the quarter-finals on the final day of the Second Round,
Ukraine meanwhile, who are no longer in the hunt for a position in the last eight of the tournament, will try to register a first win in the Second Round against Germany.
