France's senior team has been making a lot of noise in recent years with a silver medal at the Sydney Olympics and the inclusion of players like San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker in their Eurobasket 2003 squad.
The team that is hoping to steal all the headlines this summer, however, is the Under-20 side being coached by Jacques Commeres.
He is gearing his players up for the U20 European Championship Men in Russia, where they will take on Slovenia, Russia and Croatia in Group C.
Their prospects look good if last weekend's play is anything to go by because Commeres and Co defeated Germany twice in Vittel.
Les Bleuets, with Philippe Braud pouring in 16 points, won 89-68 on Friday. Twenty-four hours later they prevailed 61-48.
The under-20s are now on the small Greek island of Syros, which is just 86 square kilometres, for additional preparation games against Russia, Greece and the Czech Republic.
They will then have another training camp in Lyon, where they are due to face Italy in two games on July 2 and 3, before departing for Chekhov, where they will open up the Under-20 tournament against Slovenia on July 8.
