Olga Dubrovina and Arina Lysyuk scored 14 first-half points apiece to allow Ukraine to go into the break only trailing 35-32.
France's attempts to pull away were postponed as their opponents kept within striking distance.
However, a 21-8 surge that bridged the third and fourth quarter gave France a 72-53 comfortable lead and it proved a hammer blow for Ukraine.
Ukraine were outrebounded 57 to 31.

Skuballa had a game-high 26 points and 12 rebounds to help secure her team's first win at the U20 European Championship for Women.
Germany moved ahead in the fourth minute and went into the break with a 34-21 lead.
They pressed home their advantage in the third quarter and never looked back.
Bulgaria were a mere one of 15 (6.6%) from three point range and were outrebounded 42 to 23. |
