Isabelle Yacoubou - EuroBasket Women 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje (Russia-PBL)

Career: Tarbes GB (France-NF3 / LFB, 2003-10), Beretta Famila Schio (Italy-A1, 2010-11), Ros Casares (Spain-LF, 2011-12), Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje (Russia-Premier League,2012-13)

One of the most popular players with fans and her peers, the center can regularly be seen smiling and joking with everyone around her, before the tip-off and after the final buzzer. When she's on court, Yacoubou is a powerhouse in the paint, a significant physical and intimidating presence, who is hugely difficult to guard under the basket. She is strong, quicker than she looks and wears down opponents during games. After spending her early career in France, she has since been crowned a EuroLeague Women champion and is thriving by playing for some of the elite clubs in European basketball. Indeed she was a domestic champion for three seasons in a row with Tarbes, Schio and Ros Casares. She can often have explosive spells in games and if she gets hot, can prove unstoppable for any opponent who doesn't match her physical approach.
