Ajinca made his senior debut for France in 2009 in a friendly against Austria in Strasbourg and he returns to the squad this summer after last featuring in 2010. He was part of the French side which was third at the FIBA U19 World Championship in 2007, as well as on the national teams that claimed the gold medal at the U18 (2006) and U16 (2004) European Championship. He won the French Cup with Pau-Orthez in 2007 and was then drafted 20th overall into the NBA by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2008. He was traded to Dallas in 2010 and then onto the Toronto Raptors in 2011 before returning to France. Alexis was a BMX cyclist in his youth, finishing second in the 1997 UCI world championships, while his sister Elodie took a world title in 2003. He is on Twitter @AjincaAlexis42.
