Bourges forward Florence Lepron predicted there was more to come from her side following the 89-72 win over Jolly JBS Sibenik in EuroLeague Women Group B.

The French side, who reached the tournament's Final Four last term, only pulled away in the final quarter to seal victory over the Croatians in their opening match of this year's campaign.

Sonja Kireta (18 points and eight rebounds) stood out for the hosts, while Belinda Snell also weighed in with 18 points on Wednesday.

But Lepron, who scored two points on the night, admitted Bourges were not at their best.

"It was a EuroLeague match and at this level, nothing is easy - we were never safe," said the power forward.

"This team from Sibenik played a type of game we didn't know. It wasn't easy to defend against and we couldn't impose our game on them.

"We got the victory, but there is still a lot of work to do."

The French side led 23-19 at the end of the first quarter and then 46-38 at half-time.

It remained nip and tuck, and going into the final 10 minutes Bourges were leading by just five points (66-61).

But they went on an 8-0 run near the end of the game to put it to bed.

Nora Bujdoso knows Bourges will have to improve if they are to beat the Croatians in the return fixture in December.

"We did not know how to express ourselves. We have to play better than here," said the forward.

"The match at their place will be different. We are going to study their game and find some solutions that will help us adapt."

Bourges are away at USK Prague in EuroLeague next week as they look to make it two wins from two.
