Poland, Bulgaria and Sweden enjoyed winning starts to the additional qualifying round for the EuroBasket Women on Wednesday.
The Poles, who narrowly missed out on automatic qualification, won 68-63 in Group A at Finland but they found themselves in danger of being upset at the end of the third quarter after Taru Tuukkanen buried a three-pointer to give the hosts a 52-46 lead.
EuroBasket Women 2007 qualifying is nearly complete and there are a number of teams who still have a chance to advance to the Final Round in Chieti, Italy.
A total of nine spots are on offer with the top teams from the each group directly qualifying to EuroBasket 2007, along with the four best second placed teams, determined according to:
