A prototypical Finnish sharpshooter, Ahonen has been developing steadily during his already impressive run at the top of Scandinavian basketball. After learning the ropes and showing glimpses of potential with Finnish top league team ToPo from 2007 to 2009, Ahonen went back to his roots and helped his hometown team Salon Vilpas reach Finnish top level and ultimately led them to the play-offs. Last summer, Ahonen shot the lights out in his first games with the Wolf Pack and last season he showed significant improvement at the point guard position with Swedish side Solna Vikings. While Ahonen's shot still remains his no. 1 weapon, his ball-handling skills and defence have also taken quantum leaps these last two years.
