The Czech Republic beat Finland 79-64 on the third day of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship Women in Sopron but their margin of victory was not big enough to keep their hopes of advancing to the second group stage.
The Czechs have a single victory from their opening two games and even if Greece were to join them and the Finns at 1-2 in Group A by losing to unbeaten Bulgaria on Sunday, the Greeks would advance on a tie breaker - superior goal differential taking into account only the games involving the Czechs and Finland.
Greece's goal differential is + 11 while the Czechs' is +4.

Finland, who opened the tournament with a thrilling 60-57 win over the Greeks, have a goal differential of -12 following Sunday's defeat.
At the end of the third quarter, the Czech Republic were in good position to win the tie-breaker as they led 59-40.
But Finland did not allow their opponents to pull away to put their goal differential in a winning position.
Alena Podskalská had 24 points in a winning cause - far more than the eight and five points, respectively, she had in the opening games against Bulgaria and Greece.
She also grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.
For Finland, Minna Raatikka finished with 11 points, six assists and two steals.
