Turkey swept the board in Guadalajara, Spain, over the weekend in a warm-up event for the U16 European Championship Division A.
Turkey beat Italy, 79-66, England, 82-75 and hosts Spain, 90-81.
Omar Ugurata, the coach of Turkey, had said before the event "it will be advantageous to see Italy and England up close".
Indeed, the Turks' trip to the Iberian Peninsula provided not only insight into their Group A opponents but may have also given them a psychological edge before they square off against the English on 19 July and then Italy two days later.
In the victory over Italy, Akif Egemen Güven had 21 points while Riccardo Rossato poured in 17 for Antonio Bocchino's Italians.
Italy bounced back on their second day and edged Spain, 86-84, and then won convincingly against England, 85-55.
Spain only managed to defeat England on the first day, 90-43, to finish third.
In their defeat to Turkey, Adnan Omeragic had 19 points and both Marc García and Carlos Martínez weighed in with 14 apiece.
