EUROBASKET 2015 1QR

Switzerland kick-started their EuroBasket 2015 1st Qualification Round campaign in triumphant fashion on Thursday, enjoying a 78-37 rout of Denmark at home in their Group C opener.
The Danes scored the first basket in the encounter but, as they hit only 26.7 percent of their shots from the floor on the night, they went on to score only six further points in the entire first quarter.
After the first ten minutes of action Switzerland had already claimed a double-digit lead, 18-8, and they outscored their guests 26-13 in the second frame to take a 23-point lead into the half-time interval.
The hosts had their least productive ten minutes in terms of offensive output after the two teams returned from the locker rooms, but forced Denmark to go through a six-minute dry spell in the third quarter, to enter the final stanza with a healthy cushion of 26 points, 59-33.
The Swiss then put to rest any hopes of a heroic late comeback Denmark might had nurtured by using a 12-0 run to take their biggest lead in the game midway through the fourth quarter, with the point differential hitting the 40-point mark approximately two minutes before the final buzzer.
Marko Mladjan and Dusan Mladjan led the Swiss with 13 points and four rebounds each, while Clint Capela collected a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards; Nicolai Iversen was the only Dane to score in double digits and finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
