Ural Great went into tonight’s home game against the Honka Playboys as huge favourites, and did not disappoint as they dispatched the Finnish champions, 94:51.
Honka have yet to win a game this season in the FIBA Europe League, and Perm was certainly a tough place to start. Ural Great are unbeaten at home, where they have amassed a perfect 4-0 record.
True to form, Ural Great found their defensive rhythm almost straight away, not allowing Honka to score until the 6th minute of the game. The first quarter finished 21:6 in the home team’s favour and Ural Great were well on the way to a comfortable night’s work.
To Honka’s credit, they went on a 10-0 run in the 2nd quarter behind guard Steven Woodberry. But it would not be enough, as Ural Great finished the quarter up 40:25 and in complete control of the game.
Honka center Stephen Rich, playing in just his second FEL game, scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter, but could not stop the home team from increasing the lead to 30, 69:39. The onslaught continued into the 4th, where Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic took over for Ural Great, scoring 14 points and leading his side to their biggest win of the season.

Lavrinovic finished with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Stevan Nadjfeji was named MVP and scored 13 points on 6/9 shooting.
