Lotos Gdynia unveiled George Dikeoulakos as the new coach of the club on Tuesday. Dikeoulakos, a Greek who steered Sony Athinaikos to a Greek league, cup and EuroCup Women treble last season before taking the reins of Latvia's national team and guiding it to qualification for the EuroBasket Women 2011 in Poland, is replacing Dariusz Raczynski at the helm. "Lotus is a young squad but has great potential," Dikeoulakos said. Raczynski will serve as the assistant coach to Dikeoulakos. Lotos, who are just 1-7 in the EuroLeague Women, are 8-7 in Poland's top flight. They have also bolstered their line-up with France international Paulina Krawczyk. The 26-year-old Krawczyk won a EuroBasket Women gold medal in 2009 but has been out of action with a knee injury. Lotos Gdynia won last year's Polish title but were unable to retain key players from that side. |
