Lotos Gdynia Bring In U18 Coach Tanasiejczuk

Lotos Gdynia have handed the reins to their team to Poland's Under-18 coach, NikoĊ‚aj Tanasiejczuk.

A Polish citizen, the 50-year-old Tanasiejczuk hails from the former Soviet Union and has coached in Russia, Germany and Poland.

"I'm happy that I could work at such an important Polish basketball club," Tanasiejczuk said, "while I am happy with the next challenge in my career, which certainly is to build and maintain a strong, young team."

Lotos Gdynia won the title last season but have said good-bye to key players from that side.

Australian point guard Erin Phillips and Poland international Magdalena Leciejewska joined rivals Wisla Can-Pack Krakow while Serbian Ivana Matovic has left for Fenerbahce.
