Penelope Jane Taylor capped a magnificent performance for Famila Schio as they snatched an 81-79 win from the jaws of defeat in a EuroLeague women clash with Lotos Gdynia.

Taylor, who finished with a game-high 31 points as well as eight rebounds and four assists, had seen her team squander a 77-72 lead with five points remaining.

A three-pointer from Agnieszka Bibrzycka and a Gordana Kovacevic jump shot levelled the scores and then Paulina Pawlak gave the Polish team a 79-77 lead with just more than two minutes to play.

Taylor then seized control of the game as she made a jump shot to level the scores and then sealed victory with a jump shot just eight seconds before the buzzer.

Lotos had led 27-20 at the end of the first period only for the Italians to lead by a single point at the midway point after taking the second quarter 22-14.

From then on it was balanced on a knife edge with Schio winning the third quarter 24-22.

The Poles took the final period 16-15 but came up just too short.

Kovacevic, with her 22 points, received able support from Bibrzycka (21) and Rankica Sarenac (13) in a losing cause.

Angela Zampella contributed 17 points for Schio.
