For much of his career with the National Team, Miguel Miranda has been more of a role player than a major contributor, mostly because he was used as a center, a position where he never plays at club level. However during recent times, his influence has grown significantly and last summer he was one of the main contributors and averaged almost 30 minutes per game to emphasise his importance. While he is a little undersized and lacking in quickness compared to some of the elite centers he is likely to face at EuroBasket 2011, Miranda won't back down from the challenge and will make up for this with his veteran experience and aggressive approach. Crucially he has good range for a big man and can punish teams when he steps out to the perimeter by making triples on a consistent basis and this is his main strength. He also knows what is required to play at a major tournament having helped his team make the second round at EuroBasket 2007 in Spain.
