Bourges Basket bounced back from their season-opening EuroLeague Women defeat at home to USK Prague with 64-53 victory at Good Angels Kosice.
Endene Miyem, one of the France EuroBasket gold-medal winners in the Bourges side, had 16 points in the win including 10 in the first half when Kosice struggled to contain Bourges' pick-and-roll.
Candice Dupree's all-round solid play helped Kosice battle back in the Infinity Arena and tie the game at 31-31 at half-time.
The EuroLeague Women All-Star from the United States had scored 11 of her 16 points in the contest by the break.
Bourges took command after play resumed, however, with Kosice struggling with both turnovers and their shooting.
Pierre Vincent's visitors scored the first seven points of the second half for a 38-31 lead. They limited their hosts to just nine points in the frame, with Bourges going in front by as many as 15 before taking a 51-40 advantage to the last 10 minutes.
Good Angels Kosice managed to reduce the arrears to seven points early in the fourth quarter.
That happened when Slovakia international Katarina Hrickova's jumper cut the Bourges advantage to 51-44, but Essence Carson replied with a three-point play for Vincent's team and they pulled away for a convincing win.
Carson was the other Bourges player to finish in double figures with 13 points.
Bourges were 24 of 50 inside the arc compared to Kosice's 16 of 43.
The French outfit also won the rebounding battle 38-30.
Bourges' solid defense came up with 15 steals, four apiece for Paoline Salagnac and Carson.
