Bourges have enjoyed three championship moments in their EuroLeague Women history.

Coming back from 16 points down at UMMC Ekaterinburg and knocking the Russians from the ranks of the unbeaten this week must have made fans feel as if they had captured a fourth title.

Bourges veteran Cathy Melain said her team's ability to keep its poise under pressure is what gave them their biggest triumph of the year, a result that lifted the French giants into second place in Group B.

"We kept our cool when it mattered," she said.

"It was necessary for us to get back to grabbing rebounds, to stop their chances of hitting us on the fast break that had hurt us before half-time.

"We made turnovers just as they did but we got back in the game little by little."

Looking back on the days before the contest, Melain said there was a feeling of calm in the Bourges team.

"We had nothing to lose," she said. "We were able to play relaxed and when you have nothing to lose, you have everything to gain."

Bourges will now hope to beat Wisla Can-Pack Krakow to second place, which ensures home court advantage in the eighth finals.
