Basketball fans in Brno watched the world's greatest players at the EuroLeague Women Final Four as the likes of Lauren Jackson, Tina Thompson, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi led Spartak Moscow Region to the title.

They also caught a glimpse of the future in Sonja Petrovic of Bourges, who was presented with her FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year award before tip-off of the final between Spartak and Gambrinus Brno.

FIBA Europe's General Secretary Nar Zanolin presented the Serbia international with the award.

Petrovic, who is just 19 years old, was a vital part of the French team's success this season and helped fire them into the Final Four.

Bourges lost a heart-breaking semi-final in overtime to Gambrinus Brno, and then slipped to a second defeat on Sunday with UMMC Ekaterinburg edged a one-point win after hitting a buzzer-beating three-pointer.

Petrovic will be on show for her country later this year when Serbia attempt to qualify for EuroBasket 2009 in Latvia.
