Bourges, USVO Still Lead The Way In France

US Valenciennes had their attention on the French top flight on Saturday but later this month they will focus on the EuroLeague Women with a showdown against hosts Gambrinus Brno set for the Final Four.

Laurent Buffard's USVO beat Strasbourg 70-58 behind Sandrine Gruda's 15 points.

Emmanuelle Hermouet contributed 13 for the victors.

Bourges, whose hearts were broken in a EuroLeague Women quarter final defeat to Gambrinus - the Czechs won the series 2-1 - stormed to a 90 60 triumph over Villeneuve d Ascq.

The other French side to play in the EuroLeague Women this season was Mondeville and they fell at Saint Amand, 67-59.

Bourges top the table although USVO are second with an identical 19-2 record while Mondeville are third at 18-3.
