Bourges Basket president Pierre Fosset has warned his side to expect a Gambrinus Sika Brno backlash when they meet in the EuroLeague Women quarter-finals.
Pierre Vincent's side will resume hostilities with the Czech outfit after completing two victories over Wisla Can Pack of Poland last week, while Gambrinus earned their place by holding off another French side, USO
The pair were almost inseparable in Group B, finishing with eight wins apiece from their 10 pool matches, with each recording victory over the other in their home games.
Now they are set for a mouth-watering best-of-three last-eight encounter and Fosset reckons the Czechs will be out to avenge last month's 73-67 defeat.
"We know them well since we played against them in the pool phase and we both won one match each," Fosset told France Television ahead of the first leg on February 21.
"We lost the first match away and won the second at home which means they will want their revenge.
"It will be a tight encounter overall, however starting at home will be an advantage.
"We will have to push hard and be in the best possible condition."
The French side eased into the quarter-finals with a 77-69 win over Wisla on Tuesday before securing their place in the next round with a 63-58 second win on Friday.
"It is true that we started the second match as great favourites but it was far from easy," Fosset added.
"Those European matches can always be traps but we started the clash the right way, got a point advantage and maintained it.
"Cathy Melain was also in great form which helped a lot."
Coach Vincent praised his side's composure and defense after Friday's match and hopes they will be able to reproduce the same type of performance in two weeks' time.
"In the return leg we managed to adapt and impose our game defensively," he said.
"We knew we had to change a few things from the first clash. As a whole we proved efficient in terms of tactics and we must continue that way."
The other French side to have qualified for the last eight are USVO Valenciennes, who eliminated Italians Famila Schio in two matches as well.
They will face Hungarian outfit MKB Euroleasing Sopron for their first match, also on February 21.
