Young French star Elodie Godin picks up the EuroLeague Women Player of the Week award for a stalwart performance for Bourges Basket in the penultimate week of games in the regular season.
Her double double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, coupled with 2 steals and 1 block also earned Godin another game MVP prize (her 2nd), as she and teammate Iveta Marcauskaité ruled the paint, dominating the inside game and between them cumulating for almost half of Bourges' total rebounds (24 of 51) and more than the entire Sopron team (20).
Previously featured on fibaeurope.com in December 2003, Godin is having an impressive year following on from her debut for the French national team

at the European Championships in Greece. At only 18 years of age she is already averaging 8.5 points per game and 8.7 rebounds in the EuroLeague, as well as starring for Bourges on the domestic level. Her consistent numbers also won her a spot at the French Ligue Feminine All Star Game in Besancon in December where she top-scored for Team West.
With this week's win Bourges moves into second place in Group A, overtaking UB Barcelona, who lost to Pays d'Aix Basket, and sitting close behind UMMC on the same win/loss recond of 10/3. Bourges plays at home next week in the final game against Barcelona and although the Spanish club needs the win to qualify, Bourges will be looking to finish on a high note.
