Bourges Basket went on a first-quarter rampage against Famila Schio Wednesday and cruised to an easy 93-37 victory to keep the pressure on Group B leaders Gambrinus Sika Brno.

After set-backs against MKB Euroleasing Sopron and Gambrinus, Bourges have now claimed back-to-back wins.

Last week, they defeated Lotos Gdynia.

French international star Catherine Melain scored seven points as Bourges raced to an 11-2 lead just three minutes into the contest against Famila, and the advantage ballooned to 24-4 when Anete Jekabsone buried a three-pointer for the first of her game-high 23 points on the night.

Melain's jump shot at the end of the opening period gave her nine points, and left Bourges in total command at 30-7.

Italians Famila caved in because at half-time, they found themselves trailing 52-19.

The horror show continued in the second half.

Melain finished with 11 points, four rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes on court.

Celine Dumerc scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. The French giants won for the fifth time in seven games and remained just a game behind Gambrinus, who bounced back from last week's defeat to  MKB Euroleasing Sopron with a comprehensive triumph over Lotos earlier on Wednesday.
