Cathy Melain scoops EuroLeague Player of the Week honours after her 20-point outburst in Bourges Basket's victory over Gambrinus Brno on Friday night.

The French side had dug themselves into a hole, losing game one of the quarter-final play-off series and the home-court advantage earlier in the week.

But Melain rallied her side in Brno to lead them to a 75-65 road win.

The 31-year old forward has struggled with her three-point shooting all season (34.5% from behind the arc), but it all come together in Brno. Melain nailed 5/6 from long distance and added 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a typically all-round performance.

Melain is back in Bourges after two seasons in Italy with Venezia. In 8 seasons with the club, she was instrumental in Bourges' three EuroLeague Women victories.

The last of those came in 2001, and although they made the Final Four in 2003, Bourges have since been a shadow of the side that dominated Europe in the late 90's.

However, Bourges now stand just one game away from another Final Four appearance and will be looking for more excellence from Melain to guide them back to the top of Europe.
