EiffelTowers Scrape Important Win At Strasbourg

EiffelTowers Den Bosch won 74-70 at Strasbourg on Tuesday in the EuroChallenge to move into second place in EuroChallenge Group B.

Don Beck's side prevailed for the third time in five games.

The French outfit gave themselves a shot at advancing to the Last 16, however, as they lost by just four points.

Should they win next week against Khimik and Den Bosch fall at home to Apoel, both teams would have 3-3 records and Strasbourg would finish second on a tie-breaker by virtue of a goal differential in the two meetings between the sides.

As it is, Den Bosch control their own destiny.

The game had an exciting finish.

With 27 seconds remaining, Dean Oliver made two free-throws to give the Dutch outfit a 72-67 lead but Thomas Heurtel answered with a three-pointer for Strasbourg.

Heurtel fouled Jerome Beasley to stop the clock, and the Den Bosch man sank both free-throws for the 74-70 lead.

Strasbourg missed a lay-up at the end.

Kees Akerboom scored 14 points Peter van Paassen 12 and Oliver 10 for the winners.

Oliver finished with a double-double because he also had 10 rebounds.

Strasbourg got a game-high 21 points from Anthony Roberson.
